Henning (Van Suid-Afrika aanvaar ek?)

I also got a rimfire rifle like this from my cousin, it originally belonged to our grandfather.

On the barrel it says: "Patrone 22 long rifle" (and I know that "patrone" is german for cartridge)
On the receiver it says: Mauser werke A.G. Oberndorf A.N. and on the opposite side of the receiver D.R.P. D.R.G.M.

Between the barrel and receiver it says 459 and there is also a B, U, G, stamped there.

I am looking for the meaning of the D.R.P. D.R.G.M. and the 459. I found the meaning of other codes on Mausers, but not these ones.

Can anyone help?

Barend

D.R.G.M. is some kind of patent insignia followed by the registration number 459. it's something like Deutsche Reich Geshmakmuster 459

the D.R.P. is deutsche reichspatent, or something similar.
it's a general "made in germany" like stamp, german patent?

the drgm is the more specific patent and registration that protected the item and inventor. at least that's how i understand it.

soryy about the spelling. when i was stationed in germany the locals wouldn't even let me try and speak the language because o butchered it so badly!

but, hey, welcome to the forum!
