Ya I got a wild hair over the week & decided to put my 1st 10/22 build back to what it looked like in "95"
Back then all my parts came from Brownells and some from Midway.
This was all before I even had the E-net, all the info came from gun magazines, the rifle will look as did then with some up-grade tricks from the Net.
I did this to a 10/22 I bough new in 1977 or 78 I think & in the 90's there was this match called the "Chevy team challenge" and every body was building that style of rifle, pretty much what is called an ultimate now.
The first thing I bough was a heavy match .920 barrel & an Volquartsen hammer kit, Weaver T09 scope base.
The trigger pull was about 4 lbs and 1/2 the weight of the factory pull...life is good
My 10/22 had an factory walnut DSP stock & opened up the barrel channel, did a little glass bedding.
.Here is the 1995 bedding.

Shot the rifle like that for a couple of years...but didn't like the cheek weld & bought a Fajen unfinshed stock.
Boyd's gun stock company didn't exist at this time.

Well the Fajen stock was a fun project but was not to good as an bench rest stock, the stock is just great
as an off hand shooting machine but that's it & looked cool.
But did shoot some darn good scores shooting USBR @ 25 & 50 yards for two years on RFC.
So for the fun of it I am going back to the "95" look with upgrades.
Today I redid the barrel, she had the droops & the way I fixed that I glued the barrel in with red loctite
and set the barrel with these screws for the loctite to set up.

Worked too good, I ended up with a moon shooter barrel & shot the rifle that way for a few years.
Ran out of elevation on my scope fast past 50 yards.
Fixed that today with the 8-32 set screw trick in the barrel V-block wedge deal.
Can adjust as needed.

Ya I had to heat the barrel up with a Lp torch & had it smoking, but came apart.
More to come....soon.
